Boudha

After enjoying lunch at Sajana's, she took me to Boudha. It was only a 10 minute walk from her house. Boudha is a Buddhist stupa and temple, with an active Buddhist monk community nearby. I have been told by many people that coming to Boudha in the evening is ideal because the monks of chanting, singing, and worshiping. Unfortunately, I went at about 3pm. There were only a couple monks and it was SO HOT! Next time I will definitely go in the evening. The temple is under reconstruction following the earthquake, but there is still plenty to see and lots of shopping to be done.

Boudha Stupa

Inside the temple there is a gigantic golden Buddha. It's probably over 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide.

Also, a giant candle, about 4 feet tall. Have you ever seen a 4-foot tall candle?

    1. Yeah, I'm sure no one will notice me lugging that thing out of the temple and airport security should have no problem with it either. I'll get right on that.
